Will GTA 6 Come to PC? What Rockstar Has and Hasn't Said

The single most asked question about GTA 6 right now is whether it is coming to PC. The honest answer, as of August 2026: Rockstar has not announced a PC version at all — no date, no confirmation, not even an acknowledgement that one is in development.

What is actually confirmed

PlatformStatus
PlayStation 5Confirmed — November 19, 2026
Xbox Series X|SConfirmed — November 19, 2026
PCNot announced
PS4 / Xbox OneNot happening — current-gen only

What history suggests

Rockstar has consistently shipped consoles first and PC later. Looking at the gap between console and PC launches across their last few major releases, the delay has ranged from about seven months (GTA 4) to nineteen months (GTA 5), with Red Dead Redemption 2 sitting roughly in the middle at around a year.

Apply that range to a November 19, 2026 console launch and a PC port most plausibly lands somewhere in late 2027 to early 2028. That is an extrapolation from precedent, not a leak and not a promise — treat any site quoting a specific PC date as guessing.

Why Rockstar does this

Three reasons, none of them mysterious. Consoles are a fixed hardware target, so the launch build only has to be tuned for two machines rather than thousands of GPU and driver combinations. A staggered PC release gives a second sales and press cycle roughly a year later. And a delayed PC version means the launch build is not the one that gets datamined and pirated on day one.

What PC players can do in the meantime

Not a great deal about GTA 6 itself. But the game is returning to Vice City, and the original Vice City runs on any PC — including, thanks to a WebAssembly port, inside a browser tab with no install at all. The free browser version works on Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebooks, which is a broader platform list than GTA 6 will have for at least a year.
