GTA 6 Map Guide — Every Confirmed Leonida Region Before the Nov 19 Launch
GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and it takes the series back to Vice City for the first time since 2002. But the GTA 6 map is not just a city this time — Rockstar is building the entire fictional state of Leonida, a stand-in for Florida, with Vice City as one region among six.
Here is everything Rockstar has actually confirmed, separated from the leak-driven noise.
The six confirmed regions
| Region | Real-world analogue | What we know |
|---|---|---|
| Vice City | Miami | The urban core. Substantially larger than the 2002 city, with far more interiors, roads and landmarks. |
| Leonida Keys | Florida Keys | An island chain running south from the mainland. Heavy boat and seaplane territory. |
| Grassrivers | The Everglades | Wetlands and swamp. Airboats, stilt houses, wildlife. |
| Port Gellhorn | Florida Panhandle towns | A faded industrial port town, visibly poorer than Vice City. |
| Ambrosia | Rural inland Florida | Farmland and small-town sprawl. |
| Mount Kalaga National Park | Forested state parks | The map's wilderness and elevation, north of the populated regions. |
How big is the map?
Rockstar has not published a full in-game map or confirmed a square-mileage figure, and anyone quoting one precisely is guessing. What is confirmed is the shape of the thing: a whole state rather than a city and its outskirts, with six distinct named regions and a road network connecting them. Expect it to be the largest map in the series by a wide margin.

The delay history, briefly
GTA 6 was first targeted for 2025, moved to May 26, 2026, and then settled on November 19, 2026. That November window is now widely considered firm, with no further slips expected. It has been a long road since the first trailer.
What to play until November
Three months is a long wait, and the obvious warm-up is the game GTA 6 is returning to. The 2002 original still holds up — the map is small by modern standards but denser per square metre than almost anything since, and you can play the free browser version right now with no download and no console.

Everything above reflects officially confirmed information as of August 21, 2026. We will update this page as Rockstar releases more of the map.
