GTA 6 Returns to Vice City on Nov 19, 2026 — Replay the Original Free First
It's official: Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026, and after two delays Rockstar has confirmed the date is locked. The setting? The state of Leonida — including a spectacular modern return to Vice City, the neon Miami-inspired metropolis the series last visited as a period piece in 2002.
Why everyone is replaying the original
With three months to launch, search interest in the original Vice City is surging — and for good reason. GTA 6's trailers are packed with callbacks: Ocean Drive's art-deco strip, the beachfront, the causeways. Knowing the 1986 version of these streets makes the 2026 version land harder. It's the difference between visiting a city and coming home to one.
You don't need to install anything
Here's the good news: you can replay GTA: Vice City free in your browser right now. An open-source engine port compiled to WebAssembly streams the game to any modern browser — PC, Mac, Chromebook, even your phone. No emulator, no 2002-era installer hunting, no compatibility patches. Click play and you're on Ocean Beach in about a minute.
What to replay before GTA 6
- The opening ambush and "An Old Friend" — the setup GTA 6's Jason and Lucia story will inevitably be compared to.
- The Malibu Club and Vercetti Estate takeovers — the empire-building loop GTA 6 is rumored to expand.
- The radio. Flash FM and V-Rock defined the series' licensed-music identity. GTA 6's soundtrack has big shoes to fill.
Set your own countdown
November 19 is closer than it looks. Whether you're team PS5 or Series X, the best way to wait is behind the wheel of a Cheetah with Billie Jean on the radio — play the original free now →
