GTA 6 Characters — Everything Confirmed About Jason and Lucia

GTA 6 lands on November 19, 2026, and for the first time the series is built around a pair. Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are the game's dual protagonists, and Lucia is the first major, non-optional female protagonist with a voice actress in a mainline Grand Theft Auto.

Here is everything Rockstar has actually confirmed — separated from the mountain of leaks.

Lucia Caminos

Lucia grew up in Liberty City before her family ended up in the state of Leonida. She was incarcerated at the Leonida Penitentiary for an unspecified crime connected to "fighting for her family" — Rockstar has been deliberately vague about what she actually did.

She is the more driven half of the pair. Where Jason drifts, Lucia decides. The trailer framing puts her at the centre of the story rather than beside it, which is a meaningful shift for a series that has traditionally handed the wheel to its men.

Jason Duval

Jason wants, in Rockstar's words, "an easy life." He grew up "around grifters and crooks," joined the army to get clear of a troubled adolescence, and by the time we meet him he is working for local drug runners in the Keys. He is not an ambitious criminal — he is someone who keeps landing back in it.

The story

GTA 6 is the first numbered entry to build its entire narrative around a romantic criminal partnership — an explicit Bonnie-and-Clyde structure. Rockstar's own framing: Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them, and when an easy score goes wrong they land on "the darkest side of the sunniest place in America," caught in a criminal conspiracy stretching across Leonida and forced to rely on each other to get out.

That mutual dependence is the mechanical hook as much as the emotional one. A dual protagonist whose relationship can strain is a very different design problem from GTA 5's three independent leads.

How this compares to Tommy Vercetti

The contrast with the original Vice City is stark. Tommy Vercetti is a solo operator whose entire arc is about accumulating power and trusting nobody — and who is proved right, since the one person he trusts betrays him in the final mission. Jason and Lucia are the inverse premise: two people whose only asset is each other.
