All 100 Hidden Packages in GTA: Vice City — Locations, Rewards & Tips
The hidden packages in GTA: Vice City are the single most rewarding collectible in the game. There are 100 of them, they look like little green Tiki statues, and every one you grab pays $100 on the spot. More importantly, every tenth package unlocks something permanent. You can hunt them in the classic game, the Definitive Edition, or the free browser version — the locations are identical.
What every 10 packages unlock
Rewards spawn at the Ocean View Hotel (your first safehouse) and later at the Vercetti Estate once you own it. Walk outside after hitting each milestone and the pickup will be waiting.
| Packages | Reward |
|---|---|
| 10 | Body armor at your safehouses |
| 20 | Chainsaw |
| 30 | Colt Python (.357 magnum) |
| 40 | Flamethrower |
| 50 | Laser-scoped sniper rifle |
| 60 | Minigun |
| 70 | Rocket launcher |
| 80 | Sea Sparrow at the Vercetti Estate helipad |
| 90 | Rhino tank at Fort Baxter Air Base |
| 100 | Hunter attack helicopter at Fort Baxter, plus $100,000 |
That table is the real reason to collect. A free Hunter and a free Rhino turn the back half of the story into a formality, and the Python and laser sniper are two of the best weapons in the game long before you can reliably afford them.
Where they are, island by island
Packages are spread across both islands, but the density is uneven. Roughly:
- Washington Beach — 12 packages, the biggest single cluster, all reachable on foot.
- Ocean Beach — 8 packages at the south end of the east island. Start here; it is your opening neighbourhood and several sit on low roofs you can reach with a bike ramp.
- Vice Point — a large spread through the north-east hotels and apartment blocks.
- Downtown — heavily vertical. Several are on high rooftops and effectively need a helicopter.
- Little Haiti & Little Havana — mostly ground level, hidden behind fences and in alleys.
- Starfish Island, Prawn Island, the airport and the docks — the awkward stragglers. These are the ones people miss when their counter reads 96.
Get a helicopter first
This is the tip that saves hours. A meaningful number of packages sit on rooftops with no stairs. Rather than hunting ramps, buy the Hyman Condo in Downtown ($14,000) — it has a helipad that always respawns a Maverick. From there you can land on almost every roof in the city and clear the vertical packages in one sitting.
If you would rather not pay, the Vercetti Estate helipad and the hospital roofs also spawn helicopters once you are far enough into the story.
A sane collection order
- Clear Ocean Beach and Washington Beach on foot early — 20 packages, no tools needed, and it gets you armor and the chainsaw before the difficulty ramps.
- Do Vice Point on a PCJ-600. Fast, and most are at street level.
- Unlock the west island, then sweep Little Haiti and Little Havana by car.
- Buy the Hyman Condo and do every rooftop and Downtown package by helicopter.
- Mop up Prawn Island, Starfish Island, the airport and the docks last.
Playing in the browser
Package hunting is long, and the free browser version handles that fine — progress saves automatically in your browser, and you can pick the hunt back up on another device with a save key. See our guide to browser saves and save keys before you start a 100 % run, so a cleared cache does not cost you 80 packages.
If you are chasing full completion, packages are only one line on the list — the 100 % completion checklist covers the rest, including the 35 rampages and 36 stunt jumps.
