The 10 Fastest Cars in GTA: Vice City (and Exactly Where to Find Them)

Vice City's car list is short by modern GTA standards, which makes the good ones matter more. If you want the fastest car in GTA: Vice City, the answer is the Infernus — but the ranking below the top spot is closer than people assume, and where a car spawns often matters more than its top speed.

Everything here applies to the classic game and the free browser version.

Where to find them

Infernus

The prize. Spawns around Starfish Island and near the Vercetti Estate once you own it, and reliably in the rich districts late in the story. Also appears on the Sunshine Autos import list. Handles like a brick above 100 mph — brilliant on the causeways, terrifying Downtown.

Cheetah

Almost as fast and considerably easier to drive. Spawns on Ocean Drive and around Vice Point and Starfish Island. If you are doing timed missions, take the Cheetah over the Infernus — the two-second deficit in top speed is worth the grip.

Hotring Racer

Won from the Hyman Memorial Stadium Hotring event. Fastest acceleration in the game and no doors worth speaking of. Great for straight-line missions, useless for anything requiring subtlety.

Banshee and Phoenix

Both common street spawns — the Banshee around Vice Point and Ocean Beach, the Phoenix around Downtown and Little Havana. The Phoenix is the best "good enough, always nearby" car in the game.

Deluxo

Not the fastest, but it is a DeLorean, it has a targa roof, and it fits the 1986 setting better than anything else on the road. Spawns around Vice Point and the film studio on Prawn Island.

PCJ-600

The real answer for daily driving. Not a car, but faster point-to-point than any of them because it fits through gaps, survives contact better than a supercar, and handles the map's alley shortcuts. Spawns everywhere. It is also the bike to use for the 36 stunt jumps.

The shortcut: Sunshine Autos

Buy Sunshine Autos ($50,000) in Viceport and you unlock four car-import lists. Complete a list and that vehicle spawns permanently in the showroom garage — including the Infernus and Cheetah. This turns "hunt a supercar across the map" into "walk to the garage", and the property pays $9,000 a day besides. It is one of the eight assets that count toward the six you need to unlock the finale.

Or just cheat

If you want a fast car immediately, GETTHEREQUICKLY spawns one, and PANZER spawns a Rhino tank if speed is not the priority. The full list is in our GTA: Vice City cheat codes guide.
